Abstract The Union Congregational Church of Bryant, S.D. was founded on March 13, 1892, with the writing of its first constitution. On March 30th, 1892, the church joined in covenant fellowship with Congregational churches in DeSmet, Hetland, Erwin, Lake Preston, and Willow Lakes. The church building was finished in 1897 and later remodeled in 1945. Abstract Charlestown proper was founded in 1628 and formally settled on July 4, 1629. The First Church of Charlestown was gathered in 1632. The church’s third meeting house was destroyed during the Battle of Bunker Hill and the fourth meeting house was not constructed until 1783 after the American Revolutionary War had ended. In 1913, the Winthrop Church merged with the First Church. In 1957, the interior of the church was destroyed by a fire; financial hardship delayed the restoration of the church...

Abstract The First Congregational Church in Jersey City, New Jersey, was first gathered in 1841 though it was not until 1858 that the church was formally organized. The first church building, called the Tabernacle Church, was constructed in 1863. A new church building was purchased in 1896 and a new church was constructed in 1904.
